"The Breath of Everything Public Art Project" uses local art works to connect AIRSIDE and Kai Tak communities
The "Everything Breathing Public Art Project" is planned by AIRSIDE, which is committed to integrating art into life. It hopes to take advantage of the shopping mall space to allow the public to easily access the art works, and attaches different extension activities to strengthen the interaction between the works and the viewers, so that the art works do not just stand there Exhibits in shopping malls can better participate in the lives and atmosphere of the public. The project commissioned a total of more than ten local art units to connect AIRSIDE, cultural life, and the Kai Tak community with their works. It also invited a literary group that had been stationed in San Po Kong - the local literary bimonthly "Word Flower" to curate a number of articles by local poets. New poems, lyrics, prose and other literary works created by , writers and poets echo each other and connect the atmosphere of different artistic fields.
Kingsley Ng latest dynamic installation work "Pu Xu" appears, Stephen Wong super large Lion Rock painting
The latest work in the plan, "Pu Xu", was created by local artist Kingsley Ng. It is a large-scale dynamic installation rarely seen in shopping malls in recent years. "Pouch" is inspired by San Po Kong, a five-minute walk from AIRSIDE, dating back to the time when Kai Tak Airport was not yet completed and was still "Old Po Kong". Legend has it that the old Po Kong was covered with catkins and catkins flying in the sky; later, the catkins were turned into the runway of Kai Tak Airport, and the lifting and landing catkins were replaced by busy flights every day. Now "Puxu" slowly rises and falls in the atrium of AIRSIDE, gently connecting the two old eras with the present; and the fresh breath of Mak Shukin's prose "The Smell of the Morning" will echo and communicate with "Puxu", bringing a sense of harmony to the city. Come for contemplation and renewal.
As for the 10-meter-high "Mountain Road", it is the creative result of artist Stephen Wong ten-month residency in AIRSIDE. The mountain landscapes adjacent to AIRSIDE are presented in the work, including Lion Rock, Beacon Mountain, Ciyun Mountain, etc.; Zhou Yaohui used the title "Just Do One Thing Today" to review his lyrics creation over the years and create a new text in series. Both of their creations hope to convey the simple life of finding concentration in the city and reconnecting with nature.
